A message from the past

Her name was Âmánguak. She outlived everyone she loved, delivered children into the cold and sewn garments in the dark. When I asked her what she knew, she looked at me as if the answer had always been obvious:

After bad times there are good times, and the bad times always pass. Every morning I say: today I am happy. I see the daylight. Today I will live.

I have carried those words ever since. I believe she meant them for you.

Yours across the years,
Iain D Campbell
